Welcome to KEWAP Instructor
Knives & Edged Weapons Awareness Programme (KEWAP)
Established. 2009
Next course: April 2012 - Date TBC
Location: Total Dojo, Old Bletchley, Milton Keynes
Introduction
The KEWAP Instructors course has been specifically designed to be highly informative in regards to the course’s factual subjects, pragmatic in relation to the physical skills content and highly resourced regarding what each successful candidate will receive.
KEWAP techniques and drills have been primarily designed for those (end-users) who have little or no martial arts or self-defence training experience. Importantly, KEWAP techniques do not require large amounts of strength, time-served repetition training or any real knowledge of urban combat in order to make them effective.
Successful candidates (qualified KEWAP Instructors) will be given a variety of valuable resources in order to be able to deliver safe, informative and enjoyable instruction to those over and under the age of 18 years.
Please note: KEWAP Instructors are trained to facilitate instruction for the average man, woman and child (over 11s) in society and this is where the need for safe, effective and enjoyable training is required most. Please note that KEWAP is not an 'unarmed combat' or 'military' orientated course.
Duration
1 Day: 1000 - 1700 (course registration available from 0930 onwards).
Please note: The end is subject to the ‘potential instructors’ ability to fully understand how the KEWAP subject-matter is taught and therefore extra time might be required in order to facilitate the learning process.

Endorsement for KEWAP
In the current climate of knife crime and knife related deaths in the UK Steve's course is a given. What I like about Steve's perspective on this is his balanced and mature approach to self-protection combined with practical and pragmatic skills that not only work, but ones which have been operationally tested in some of the harshest situations imaginable.
No matter what course you may have been on before, or who you have trained with previously, I guarantee you that you will find many benefits in attending this event.
