Welcome to the Colchester Martial Arts Alliance (CMAA)

Established. 2009

“Raising Standards & Serving the Community of Colchester”

 Introduction

The Colchester Martial Arts Alliance (CMAA) was established in 2009 so that martial arts instructors and personal safety trainers could share their wealth of experience with one another in order to better serve the community of Colchester.  CMAA Affiliated Instructors openly welcome one another to observe their training methods, attend specialised in-house training sessions and learn from each other’s subject matter expertise.

CMAA Affiliates provide one another with access to renowned Subject Matter Experts, nationally recognised courses, national and international events and additional life skills training for students.  Importantly CMAA Affiliates will also as a collective invest time and energy in valuable community projects.

Please Note:  Some Affiliated Instructors until now have had limited access to specialised training seminars, qualifications applicable to martial arts instruction and relevant networking events.  Therefore, CMAA Affiliates will encourage one another to attend the aforementioned in order to enhance their collective skill-base expertise, all-round qualifications and local connections etc.

The CMAA Instructors Quality Assurance Pledge

There are some instructors within the martial arts community who do not hold approved instructional qualifications from credible Associations, Federations or official Governing Bodies.  CMAA Affiliated Instructors not only hold recognised instructional grades but also a wide variety of national qualifications relevant to the safe practise of martial arts instruction. CMAA Affiliated Instructors are fully insured to teach and they all have Clean CRB or Enhanced CRB Disclosures, Clean referring to no previous criminal convictions for violence, anti-social behaviour or any other serious offence(s).
