

Elite Response Training (ERT) delivers a variety of First Aid Training courses beneficial to businesses of all sizes (including defibrillation). ERT First Aid training courses are also very beneficial for schools, colleges and other education establishments. Community based organisations, youth groups and other related projects will also gain much as a direct result of having ERT deliver their respective First Aid training.
Beyond the standard syllabus for each related training course (details upon request), ERT can add additional modules to your training course/s. These could be specific first aid subjects applicable to those you work closely with or relevant in regards to those placed within your charge.
First Aid Emergency Response - (3 hours)
This course is ideal for those who wish to learn the basics of primary assessment, secondary assessment and cardio pulmonary resuscitation (CPR). There is no formal assessment and but course instructor will closely monitor each candidate's progress during the learning process.
Qualification: Certificate of Attendance (there is no formal qualification for this course).
Annual Refresher Training - (3 hours)
This course is relevant for anyone who presently holds a first aid qualification and wishes to maintain their practical and theoretical first aid standards. This course covers the most important modules of first aid training and their application. Although there is no formal assessment the course instructor will closely monitor each candidate's progress during the course.
Qualification: Certificate of Attendance (there is no formal qualification for this course).
Emergency First Aid at Work (EFAW) - (7 hours)
This course is a comprehensive overview of first aid training. In addition to primary and secondary surveys this course covers a host of other subjects including disorders of respiration & circulation as well as wounds and bleeding. Other conditions are also covered in this informative course for those aged 16 years and above.
Qualification: Ofqual Level 2.
The course instructor will closely monitor each candidate's progress during the entire course and provide additional learning support if required.
Please note - Upon request an extra I hour is available to cover particular subjects that are applicable for your company or organisation.
First Aid at Work (FAW) - (3 days)
This course is a very comprehensive pack which covers all of the modules containing in the 1 day EFAW course plus a variety of other specific modules. Also, there are several practical assessments including one which helps to furnish course end-users with the understanding of how to deal with multiple casualties and the priorities of which.
Assessment Process - Each candidate will undertake a variety of assessments i.e. 3 practical and 1 written (multiple choice). The course instructor will closely monitor each candidate's progress during the entire course and provide additional learning support if required.
Qualification: Ofqual Level 3.
Defibrillation AED - (6 hours)
Heart and circulatory disease claims around 200,000 lives each year. Many could have been saved if a defibrillator was made available.
Automated External Defibrillators (AEDs) are now becoming more common throughout a range of public and work places. A casualty’s survival rate will dramatically increase if an AED is available and if you have appropriately qualified personnel to use it.
This very practical course will enable your learners to use the AED competently and with confidence. Not only does this course deal with the use of an AED but it also includes vital training in resuscitation (CPR) and choking procedures.
Qualification: Ofqual Level 2 (AED & CPR).
The course instructor will closely monitor each candidate's progress during the entire course and provide additional learning support if required.
First Aid at Work (FAW) Requalification - (2 days)
This course is available to FAW qualified end-users keep in date regards their 3 day FAW qualification. Those who hold an in-date 3 day FAW course certificate regardless of who awarded their FAW qualification may attend this high value refresher course.
Qualification: Ofqual Level 3 (a new FAW certificate will be awarded).
The course instructor will closely monitor each candidate's progress during the entire course and provide additional learning support if required.
Activity First Aid - (2 days)
This qualification is made up of two units including Emergency First Aid at Work. It is specifically designed for those who are involved in any form of activity, including sports, leisure and recreation.
Not only is Basic Life Support included, but many other First Aid conditions are also covered, making this qualification very comprehensive.
Unit 1 Title: Emergency first aid skills.
Unit 2 Title: Management of illness & injury in activity.
Qualification: Ofqual Level 2.

Paediatric First Aid - (1 day)
This course is a must for those who are teachers, teaching assistants, child minders, playgroup and youth organisation personnel, crèche assistants, parents and carers of young children and babies. All the fundamental of first aid training are contained within this course but some procedures are different taking into consideration the age spectrum of service users.
Each candidate will undertake a variety of assessments and the course instructor will closely monitor each candidate's progress during the entire course and provide additional learning support if required. A recognised certificate will be awarded to each candidate who completes this course and this certificate is valid for a period of 3 years.
Unit 1 Title: Paediatric Emergency First Aid.
Qualification: Ofqual Level 2 (unit 1 of the FULL paediatric Ofqual Level 2 qualification).
Paediatric First Aid - Full Qualification - (2 days)
Building upon the 1 day Paediatric course the 2 day programme contains additional modules relevant and specific to babies and young children. Certainly those who work closely with the relevant age spectrum will find this course’s content high value and very informative.
Each candidate will undertake a variety of assessments and the course instructor will closely monitor each candidate's progress during the entire course and provide additional learning support if required. A recognised certificate will be awarded to each candidate who completes this course and this certificate is valid for a period of 3 years.
Unit 1 Title: Paediatric emergency first aid.
Unit 2 Title: Managing paediatric illness & injury.
Qualification: Ofqual Level 2.
This 2-day course satisfies the guidelines and criteria as laid down by the Early Years Foundation Stage (EYFS) and OFSTED.
NEWSFLASH
As from midnight of the 5th April 2013, HSE Approved qualifications will no longer exist. This also means that the Approved Code of Practice (ACOP) will be in place by this date, giving guidance for employers in respect of their First Aid needs.
Elite Response Training is now set up and is delivering will be the new industry standard in first aid qualifications i.e. Ofqual Level 2 & Level 3 accreditation.
These are new awards sit on the new Qualifications and Credit Framework (QCF) in England, Wales and Northern Ireland.
In essence, Ofqual accreditation is of more value to learners i.e. nationally recognised qualifications!
Health and Safety at Work Act 1974
Requires employers to ensure, so far as reasonably practicable, the health, safety and welfare of their employees. This also extends to non-employees such as outside contractors and members of the public.
Health and Safety (First Aid) Regulations 1981
Employers are required to provide adequate personnel, training, equipment and facilities to render FIRST AID to their employees should they become injured or taken ill at work.
Management of the Health & Safety at Work Regulations1999
Require employers to make a suitable sufficient assessment of the risks to health & safety of all their employees.

AED - Defibrillation
Cardiac Arrest is the biggest killer in the UK, well over 150,000 die as a result each year.
The majority could have been saved if a defibrillator was made available.
